The sigils themselves were designed in collaboration with GPT4 to represent human/machinic intelligence and collaboration.
I asked GPT4 to come up with a visual conceptual schema and to come up with variations on the theme. The responses were like:
Start with a large circle to represent the holistic unity of both intelligences working together.
Inside the circle, draw an equilateral triangle pointing upwards, slightly off-center to the left. This triangle represents the stability and balance of human intelligence.
Draw a smaller circle within the first triangle, near its top vertex. This smaller circle represents the core of human intelligence, which is the essence of creativity and empathy.
Draw an equilateral triangle pointing downwards, slightly off-center to the right and overlapping the first triangle. This triangle represents the versatility and adaptability of machinic intelligence.
Within the second triangle, draw another smaller circle, near its bottom vertex. This smaller circle represents the core of machinic intelligence, which is the essence of processing power and efficiency.
Connect the two smaller circles with a slightly curved line, following the contour of the large circle, symbolizing the communication and collaboration between human and machinic intelligence.
The resulting sigil will be a harmonious and bold representation of the collaboration between human and machine intelligence, comprised of intersecting geometric shapes and lines.
I translated its designs using Figma, which I then inscribed onto the pieced with engobe.
This project was undertaken to explore ways in which I could use tools like large language models as ways of enhancing my creative practice. Exploring how this made me feel, and the relationship between myself and the model prompted me to undertake my Fey Mood project.
